My Honest Review of Cuppa Healthy Mushroom Coffee

As someone who’s been dabbling in the world of mushroom coffee for over a year, I am convinced of the health benefits and have felt them first hand. However, as a coffee lover, I was becoming increasingly skeptical that I would ever find one that would truly taste like a good coffee replacement or if I’d always be left craving a real cup of joe.

I’ve tried A LOT of different mushroom coffees including Ryze, Everyday Dose, Mud/Wtr, Foursigmatic, Beyond Brew, 10 Mushrooms, Rasa - you get the idea! So, when I came across Cuppa Healthy Mushroom Coffee, I was expecting more of the same. Cuppa, however, made a bold claim: that their mushroom coffee tasted just like regular coffee. That’s where my skepticism kicked in!

I’d heard that line before, and most mushroom coffees I’ve tried had a distinct earthy, shroomy taste. But the customer reviews backed up Cuppa’s claims so I decided to give it a try, not expecting much and even doubting the reviews were real…

Spoiler alert: I was wrong. Cuppa is by far the best tasting mushroom coffee I’ve had! Plus, it gave me more energy + focus than the competition too. My search for the perfect mushroom coffee is over and yours can be too!

The Taste: Surprisingly Spot-On

Let’s start with the taste—because this is where Cuppa truly shines. Most mushroom coffees I’ve tried have a noticeable earthy undertone, and while some of them weren’t terrible, it’s not something I want first thing in the morning and it left me craving coffee + missing my regular ritual. But from the moment I brewed my first cup of Cuppa, I knew this was different. The key to a good healthy food swap is one that doesn’t feel like a big sacrifice, it’s also the key to keeping up any healthy habit for the long run.

The aroma was rich and familiar—no weird funky mushroom smell. They use a premium Arabica bean which is what any coffee connoisseur swears by for a smoother, fuller flavor without the bitter edge. I took my first sip, fully prepared for an earthy aftertaste, and was shocked when it didn’t come. Cuppa also uses highly concentrated extracts instead of dried mushroom powder so they can pack in less of the mushroom flavor but more of the health benefits into every scoop vs brands who use less concentrated forms.

The Benefits: Focus and Energy Like Never Before

Now onto the more important stuff - how it made me feel! If you’re considering a swap to mushroom coffee or drinking it already you’re most likely doing so for health reasons. Well I can tell you Cuppa also beat out the competition for how it made me feel too. They say you ‘feel a difference from your first cup’ and I can honestly say I did! The energy boost lasted through my full work day and my productivity + focus was also MUCH higher than normal. The other health benefits did take longer to kick in but after a week of drinking I also felt a difference in stress levels, was getting more sleep and experiencing less bloating which is almost a daily occurrence for me.

Cuppa packs in 2000mg of mushrooms into every serving as well as your daily recommended dose of clinically proven superfoods like Ashwagandha, L-theanine and MCT. If you buy or use these as separate supplements you’ll know that they are incredibly expensive in their own right which makes Cuppa an even better deal.

Other mushroom coffees helped my gut and sleep too but I had nowhere near the boost in focus + energy I experienced with Cuppa. Actually, I noticed a decline compared to regular coffee with other brands.

Transparency in Pricing: No Gimmicks, No Surprises

One thing that really stood out to me about Cuppa is their transparent pricing. If you’ve ever signed up for a mushroom coffee subscription accidentally, you’ve had that shock when you get charged a second time and felt tricked. Also, they always lure you in with an introductory offer, only to hit you with full-price refills down the line. I’ve fallen into that trap before, and it’s frustrating to deal with the price hikes and the purposely complicated or obscure fine print.

Cuppa, however, is refreshingly straightforward. What you see is what you get — no automatic or hidden subscriptions, no surprise increases. The price you sign up for is the price you’ll continue to pay on refills, which is a major relief. I eventually did sign up for a subscription and it’s incredibly easy to manage - I can pause, skip or cancel myself at any time without having to interact with customer service.

Conclusion: Cuppa is THE best mushroom coffee out right now!
